Description
This is a superb Staffordshire pair of porcellaneous recumbent dogs with the crossed paws, mounted onto the decorative cobalt blue base with the quill holders to the fronts of which:
During our research we have been informed they cer
tainly date from the mid 19th century.
Date about c1860s.
Staffordshire, England origin.
Porcellaneous.
A left and a right.
A wonderful portrayal of the recumbent dogs with the intricate detailing.
wonderful facial detailing & overall portrayal with the crossed paws.
gilt dollars with the black chains to the fronts.
Mounted onto the decorative cobalt blue hollow bases with the quill holder to the fronts with a gilt band.
Each has an overall height of about 3.5inches.
Max base size of about 4.5 x 2in

Condition: Considering the age: the overall condition is:
very good and are not subject to any major blemishes except:
one has a hairline under the base centrally.
other has a hairline across the front legs and across the paws with a chip under the same foot.
Due to age: areas of fine crazing.
