    This is a superb pair of Staffordshire seated russet red & white basket spaniel dogs, each portrayed holding the coloured flower basket in its mouth, wonderful facial decoration & overall portrayals of which:
    During our research we have been informed they cer
    tainly date from the mid 19th century.
    Date about c1850s.
    Staffordshire England origin.
    Basket Spaniels feature well in the A-Z of Staffordshire Dogs by Clive Mason Pope.
    Date confirmed as the mid 19th century: c1850s.
    A wonderful portrayal of the seated basket spaniel dogs with:
    each having the russet red & white
    colouring, blue eyes, superb facial detailing and overall portrayals.
    Each is portrayed holding a coloured flower basket in its mouth.
    Pottery.
    Each has an overall height of about 6.25inches.
    Hollowed base with an overall size of about 4 x 3in
    ches.
    Condition: Considering the age: the overall condition to both is:
    excellent and both are not subject to any major blemishes except one has a very minor haiirline underneath with a similar under the ear to the rear.
