Thius is an unusual opportunity to purchase several of these quite scarce pins at one time.in my experience you usually can find at least one of the pins in a given year of looking on Ebay; in my estimate of rarity I'm considering one case as if it didn't exist. This is the person who has been offering for sale the yellow Gayway pin for 9 for at least two years on Ebay nd perhaps longer. this kind of skews the figures when you talk about how infrquently you find them for sale. Perhaps this year or next you might normally see from 0 to two in that given 12 months. It's quite deceiving when you say at least one is available all the time since it is the same one that will never sell due to its outrageous price.
For whatever reason, the Gayway pin has shown up more frequently than the others, but "more" doesn't mean often by any means. I would estimate that I have seen 5 Gayway pins for sale in perhaps the last several years (again, not counting the 9 example); three of those were mine which I sold.
I have seen the greatest demand for the iridescent blue background Space Needle pin; it can represent the entire fair or be viewed as just one of several highlighting a single attraction. Regardless, I have had more requests for the Space Needle pin than any others and have found and thus sold fewer.
The Coliseum pin is seldom seen as well but I would speculate that perhaps it wasn't as exciting an attraction as others, so it likely sold less frequently in 1962 and thus 59 years later it logically is seen infrequently.
The enamel pins are exceptionally well made; the small number I have sold over the years have always been in mint condition. I've not found even a single pin with a flaw indicating that the German-made pins were made not only by skilled crafstmen but by a company with stringent quality requirements.
It is very unusual to have the opportunity to purchase more than one at a time. The entire set consists of these three and two others, the Monorail and the US Pavilion/Science Center.
On only one occasion over the last 40 yeasr have I been fortunate to be able to sell a complete set of 5 all together in a single transaction. I did not purchase them as a set but painstakingly found all five individually and them offered the full set as one lot. I don't believe another full set has ever been offered on Ebay but despite spending way too much time on Ebay, I could have missed a set for sale a year ago or 20 years ago.
We are offering this group of 3 at about - LESS per pin than you would have to pay in most cases IF and WHEN you could find them--just for all three.
