    Description

    On offer is a British Bayonet Scabbard Frog.
    Early Buff Leather type first used for the pattern 1853 .577 Enfield Rifled musket.
    Also later used for the Snyder and later rifles.There are no markings on the Frog, it is complete with its retainer cross strap and brass buckle., held on by two rivets. The rivets look to be nickle plated to match the white buff leather .
    The frog is in its original condition with  grime , marks and some white powder does not affect the appearance even as it is still in the holes. Overall the Frog is solid in good shape and shows some darkening of the buff from age. This is a rarer item, seldom seen today, and would be a great addition for the Enfield Rifle Bayonet and scabbard.
