    Thistle
    - (1929 - 1930) (Green, Pink, Yellow, Crystal
    ) -
Thistle was produced by the  MacBeth Evans Glass Company.  It is one of the prettiest patterns that MacBeth Evans produced. The shapes used are the same as the ones used to create the popular Dogwood pattern.  This striking set is very limited with only bowls, cup and saucer sets, luncheon and grill plates, and a cake plate.  My feeling is that this pattern, which was introduced in 1929 at the same time as as the  Dogwood pattern was not as popular as Dogwood. Sales were so much better for Dogwood than for Thistle that the Thistle line was never expanded and was discontinued in 1930.  The Thistle pattern is most often found in pink, and green and is very popular with Depression Glass collectors today.
