This is a stunning antique, French, waffle iron, dating from the 1920's. It is hinged and has detachable handles that unscrew, for ease of storage and transportation. It is in amazing condition, perfectly clean and usable, with a genuine authentic patina. It comes with a matching cast iron under plate, that sits on the stove/Aga/wood burner to steady the waffle iron. The plate prevents the batter from overflowing, so you can be sure that after cooking, there won’t be a lot of mess on the stove surface. The ring plate is designed to be stable on the stove, it has "cut-out hinge grooves" on both sides, to allow you to turn the waffle pan over easily, to cook the waffle evenly on both sides.

This is an unusual, quality, item and is really heavy, weighing 4.2kgs / 9.5 lbs altogether! It is very rare to find one complete with its under plate.
The waffle iron measures 60cms/ 23 ½" long (with handles), the pan makes a waffle approx. 18.5cms/ 7 ¼" x 12cms/ 4¾". When opened fully it measures 25.5cms/ 10" wide.
The plate measures 27cms/ 10½" diameter.
